    My teacher just introduced this duet to me and I'm planning on playing it with a one of my violinist friends. So far, I love it; especially the the 6 8 section. I thought your performance was amazing, and 4:09 was the highlight of the piece because you played it with such great style and musicality.

    It simply means that this is the first piece for a quartet of musical instruments, including the piano, which was composed by Bohuslav Martinu. Other composers long before him, such as Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, wrote piano quartets and piano quintets, even octets. This piece is Martinu's first effort at this particular form.

    @Giovanni2321 Well, logically both interpretations are legitimate: either 1. "(First Piano Quartet) by Martinů" or 2. "First (Piano Quartet by Martinů)". 70% of works on analytical philosophy written in the first half of XX cent. are tackling this and similar problems (Quine, Russell's theory of descriptions etc.)

    @parkxi Combination of projection (and Yes to quality instruments, makes a BIG difference,) the acoustics of the concert-hall stage and microphone placement. One is visible: that little "pole thingie" standing up just at the corner of the cellist's podium, left in the image but his right. Placed that close to the soloists I suspect it's more for adjusting balance on playback, main mikes are likely suspended above the orch. 8-16, even 32 tracks is common for recording.

    @pinetrab Thank you for saying that. Because we always compare a good chamber group to a marriage. All the members have to get along with each other before even begin to make music. We must work together, support each other's ideas, understand all the imperfections. We argue, fight,.... but all for making music together. by the end of the concert, we are all big 2 or 4 some family.

    @Garpinator oh yeah hahah. I actually do have some Baroque style playing video somewhere. I need to find them and post them on. I love Baroque music and sometimes I wish I could do nothing but that. Thank you for your comment.

  • @Garpinator
    @Garpinator 13 років тому

    Would your handle indicate a propensity for Baroque music? Very nicely done, even if you are a couple of centuries away from your favorite era here. Of course Brahms did have a thing for including counterpoint and progression in his music. Kind of a Romantic with a bit of a retro feel for his time.
